Man dies and boy injured in crash

A motorcyclist died and his seven-year-old pillion passenger was seriously injured in a crash in Glasgow.

The 36-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but died a short time later, while the boy is in a serious condition at Yorkhill Hospital.

The accident happened on Auldhouse Road at the junction with Nether Auldhouse Road at about 1900 GMT on Friday.

The man was riding a Kawasaki motorbike which was in collision with a Honda car, driven by a 43-year-old woman.

She was uninjured.

Strathclyde Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to contact them.
