Police are hunting a teenager believed to have staged an hour-long crime spree, in which five people were threatened at knifepoint.

The boy, aged between 14 and 16, was thought to be behind three attempted robberies, one robbery and an indecent assault in Glasgow's west end.

Police have also linked him to four other incidents, all on Friday night.

He was described as white with blonde, spiky hair. He wore a blue jacket with yellow flashes.

A 23-year-old man was threatened in Great Western Road and a 20-year-old man was robbed of personal belongings on Woodlands Drive, said Strathclyde Police.

Two men aged 39 and 60 were later targeted on Hopehill Road.

And a 38-year-old woman was indecently assaulted after she refused to hand over her mobile phone to a boy who approached her on Queen Margaret Road.

The suspect was said to have threatened his victims with a knife in each of the incidents between about 2145 and 2255 GMT.

Det Con Ashley Moody said: "Luckily no-one was injured as a result of any of these incidents but it was a frightening ordeal for all of those involved.

"It is crucial that we trace the young boy responsible before he commits any further crimes of this type."
