Cross Country and West Midlands Railway services are affected, but not Chiltern Railways, according to National Rail.
Mr Griffiths said: "We arrived about 05:15 and the first fire engines were here in under five minutes and that allowed us to get a real hold of the fire and stop it spreading to any surrounding businesses so we were really fortunate in that way."
West Midlands Ambulance Service said there had been no injuries. It sent a paramedic and hazardous area response team to the scene.
He said the "significant fire" was tackled with a high-volume pumping unit and hydraulic platforms which allowed crews to put water on flames "from a height".
"Sadly the building is totally destroyed", he said, adding crews could have done nothing more to save it, considering the fire's severity.
Fire investigators are on the scene searching for the cause of the blaze. Mr Griffiths added they were trying to open roads as quickly as possible.
Residents were earlier advised to keep windows and doors closed as a precautionary measure because of the smoke plumes.
