Hawk Protection Ltd, which is based in Fivemiletown, will manufacture the products for eight police authorities in Scotland. The armour will be able to withstand ballistic, stab and spike threats. Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said the contract proved "Northern Ireland can lead the way in this specialist global market". "I congratulate the company not only on this most recent success, but also for the positive image they promote of Northern Ireland business right across the globe," she said. The managing director of Hawk Protection, Eugene Greene, said the contact was a "particularly satisfying award". "Hawk Protection continues to expand its customer base in the personal protection market after many years of product research and development, backed up by a world class supply chain and customer focussed staff," he said. Hawk Protection was set up in 2003 as part of the Cooneen Clothing Group and supplies UK and global markets. |
