A man has been charged with the killing of a female television newsreader, who died after being beaten in her home in the US state of Arkansas. Police said Curtis Lavelle Vance, 28, was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with capital murder, the Associated Press news agency reported. Twenty-six year-old Anne Pressly died last month, five days after being attacked at her home in Little Rock. Ms Pressly was a presenter on KATV's morning news programme. Police have not given any motive for the attack, nor said why they suspected Mr Vance. They had previously said Ms Pressly might have been the victim of a burglary. She had been brutally beaten around the head and face, suffering massive swelling of the brain, doctors said. Ms Pressly was found on 20 October by her mother who had gone round to her house after she failed to answer her regular morning wake-up call. The presenter recently had a small role in W, the Oliver Stone film about President George W Bush, as a conservative commentator. |
