A Manchester Airport spokesman said: "Due to a power issue this afternoon there is currently an issue with the fuel supply at the airport. Passengers said they were stuck on grounded planes for two to three hours because of the problems, which began on Sunday afternoon.
"Engineers are on site to fix the issue and we are working with airlines to try and minimise the impact." A Manchester Airport spokesperson said the issue had been resolved at 03:00 BST.
It is believed all fuelling at the site has stopped. They said "most scheduled flights" would operated as planned on Monday.
The airport, which is still open, urged people to check with their airline for information and updates. "However, we expect that there will be a small number of delays and cancellations as a result of the issues experienced."
Passengers said they had been stuck on grounded planes for two to three hours. The airport said engineers had "resolved the power issue which affected the fuel supply" and advised passengers to check the status of their flight with the airline.

A spokesman said it "remains operational as not all flights are impacted, and passengers are advised to speak to their airline for specific flight information".
