The troubles began around 3:25pm ET, according to it and were later confirmed to be connected “to a larger network issue.” Reported outage of other, non-Google apps reinforces the theory that the issue is related to the Cloud it powers apps other than Google’s own web services.
The issue appears to be related to Google’s Cloud service, its Cloud dashboard indicates. The troubles began around 3:25pm ET, according to it and were later confirmed to be connected “to a larger network issue.” The issues have only been resolved around 7:00pm ET, the company reported. “We will conduct an internal investigation of this issue and make appropriate improvements to our systems to help prevent or minimize future recurrence,” the statement reads.
Reported outage of other, non-Google apps reinforces the theory that the issue is related to the Cloud – it powers apps other than Google’s own web services.
As of 4:36pm ET, “the issues are still ongoing,” the company said on its Cloud Dashboard.
“We are experiencing high levels of network congestion in the eastern USA, affecting multiple service in Google Cloud, GSuite and YouTube. Users may see slow performance or intermittent errors. We believe we have identified the root cause of the congestion and expect to a return to normal service shortly,” the statement reads.
