To the Editor:

“The Education of T.M. Landry,” the debut episode of the New York Times television show “The Weekly” (June 2 and 3), features me and my son Nyjal, who describes how the Landry school’s headmaster assaulted him.

My family and I would like to express our gratitude for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share our story and aid in our healing. I’m well aware that bad things happen to good people every day and they just get on with their lives, but God saw fit to place all of you special people in our paths at just His appointed time to create the masterpiece I saw.

You may never completely understand what you’ve helped restore in my children; I will forever be indebted to you all. You helped restore their hope for a tomorrow, a belief that there is peace behind the pain and a true silver lining in all dark clouds.
