Homes have been evacuated, motorists stranded and trains cancelled as flooding hit parts of England. Passengers have been stuck on a flood-hit train after heavy rain fell on large parts of England.
The Environment Agency issued more than 20 flood warnings and nearly 70 alerts across the country. The 14:34 service from London to Nottingham was stopped because of a landslip near Corby, Northamptonshire.
A second train pulled up beside it to try to help move passengers.
Meanwhile, the RAF was called in at Wainfleet All Saints, Lincolnshire, after the River Steeping burst its banks. About 100 people were evacuated from their homes.
The county council said it presented a "risk to residents" and the RAF has been asked to help plug the breach in the river bank.
Lincolnshire County Council issued guidance to residents in Wainfleet which included advice on not using domestic toilets as this would add "pressure to the system".
East Midlands Trains said those on board the stuck service "are safe and well". It confirmed on Twitter that the train had been diverted on to the flooded line because of trespassing on its usual route.
"We are working with Network Rail to safely evacuate the customers from the affected train on to another train to allow them to continue their journeys as soon as possible," it said in a statement.

"I think between four and six inches has fallen in parts of Shropshire and certainly at least two inches, 50mm generally," he said. The agency said it was expecting "about another 15mm of rain to fall today.
