A Polish angler who disappeared after being swept out to sea earlier this month has been named by police.

Pawel Piotr Pakula, 40, who had been living in Aberdeen, fell into the sea when he was fishing off rocks, in the early hours of 5 December.

The alarm was raised by a friend, but a search failed to find any trace of him.

An RAF Lossiemouth helicopter had joined two lifeboats and coastguard teams in the search around the Cave of Red Rocks, Altens, south of Aberdeen.
