Det Ch Insp Paul Considine, of the Met Police, said: "There was party taking place at the nearby Old Edmontonians FC clubhouse on Saturday evening. Lots of people were out and about. A witness said he saw about 10 police officers lead a man away from the scene following the incident.
"Members of the public pursued and detained a male suspect following this attack in a nearby field. He was subsequently arrested by police." The former clergyman, who did not want to be named, said: "You could hear him shouting and hissing. He was screaming in an unknown tongue."
