Number of drink drivers up by 10%

During the first two weeks of the PSNI's Christmas campaign, 199 drivers were detected to be over the legal limit. That is 17 more than last year. The youngest driver to have been detected was just 16-years-old. "It's disappointing that people ignore the message that you should never, ever drink and drive," said acting chief inspector Rosie Leech. "But, the positive out of it is, that's 199 people who won't be drinking and driving again in the foreseeable future." |
