The crash involved two London buses and one car, according to the Metropolitan Police. Officers from London Fire Brigade also attended the scene. A man who was driving the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, the Met said.
Road closures have been put in place and the Met has advised motorists to use alternative routes. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) sent 60 firefighters to the scene of the collision between two single-decker buses and the car.
Fire crews rescued several people from the buses, helped carry out first aid and made the vehicles safe, according to LFB Assistant Commissioner Graham Ellis.
