Two people have died in a house fire in the Highlands. Forensic experts are examining the scene of a house fire in which two people died.
Fire crews were called to a terraced house in High Street, Grantown on Spey, at about 1815 GMT after passers-by spotted flames. Twenty firefighters attended the blaze at the mid-terraced house in High Street, Grantown on Spey, just after 1800 GMT on Tuesday.
A number of residents were evacuated from neighbouring properties while the blaze was tackled. Highland and Islands Fire and Rescue Service stood down just after 2300 GMT, although some firefighters remained at the scene.
A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said the bodies, which have not yet been identified, were found in the house by firefighters. A investigation is being carried out to establish the cause of the fire.

Firefighters found the remains of the two in the house after the fire was extinguished.
Police were carrying out inquiries to establish the identities of the victims, but said their details would not be released until families had been informed.
Ch Insp Donald Henderson, of Northern Constabulary, said: "It is a very tragic time of the year for this type of event to happen and our sympathies go out to the families at this time."
