Men charged after robbery attempt Men remanded on robbery charges

Four men have been charged in connection with a foiled robbery attempt in south Belfast on Monday. Four men accused of a £14,000 cash box robbery in south Belfast have been remanded in custody.
The incident happened at a Mace shop and off-sales on the Lisburn Road at about 1630 GMT. Patrick O'Neill, 46, Upper Lisburn Rd, Gerard Smith, 48, Falls Rd and Gerald Stevenson, Glasvey Drive, are charged with robbery and having a weapon.
The men, aged 46, 30, 48 and 33, are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Mr Stevenson, 33, is also accused of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and having no insurance.
The 33-year-old will also face a number of driving charges. The 30-year-old will face a charge of being unlawfully at large. James O'Neill, 30, Norglen Drive, was charged with being unlawfully at large, robbery and possessing a knife.
A police officer told Belfast Magistrates Court he could connect them with the alleged offences.
All four men were remanded in custody to appear again through video link on 21 January.
