A9 closed during 'gun incident'

A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged firearms incident at a Highlands farm, which saw a section of the A9 closed temporarily.

Armed officers were called to the property in Kildary, Easter Ross, at about 0800 GMT.

Northern Constabulary said the road near the scene was closed for about an hour to allow officers to deal with the incident safely.

No-one was injured and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
