“What we found were several individuals deceased in the backyard,” Lieutenant Dooley said at a news conference late Sunday night. Mr. Reed said all 10 of the victims were Asian men between 25 and 30 years old, but several children were at the party.
Some people were taken to a nearby hospital and some were in critical condition, he said. “Thank God that no kids were hurt,” he said.
As of Sunday night, the police had not made any arrests in connection with the shooting. Lieutenant Dooley did not release any information about the gunmen. Mr. Reed said three of the men died in the yard, and one died after being taken to a nearby hospital. Six others were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, he said.
Detectives were “canvassing the area searching for witnesses and anyone with surveillance cameras,” Lieutenant Dooley said. As of Monday morning, the police had not made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The police said they did not know who had carried out the attack or what might have motivated them.
“This is senseless violence,” Mr. Reed said. “We’re going to do everything we can to find out who the perpetrators are and bring them to justice.”
