Up to 100 firefighters are tackling a major blaze at a hotel in west London which has forced the evacuation of guests and staff. More than 100 firefighters have been tackling a major blaze at a hotel in west London which has forced dozens of guests and staff to be evacuated.
Crews were called to the five-storey Travelodge in the High Street, Brentford at about 02:50 GMT, London Fire Brigade said. Crews from several fire stations were called to the Travelodge on the High Street, Brentford, at 02:52 GMT.
Station commander Nathan Hobson said a bin room on the ground floor was alight, which had spread to the hotel. The fire started in the "bin room" of the ground floor of the hotel and had already spread to the five other floors by the time firefighters arrived.
Firefighters are carrying out a "systematic search" of the building. London Fire Brigade said there are no reported injuries.
Crews from Chiswick and surrounding fire stations have been called to the scene. Station commander Nathan Hobson said: "Firefighters carried out a systematic search of the hotel and around 160 guests and staff evacuated the building.
"A rest centre has been set up by the local authority and crews are working hard in challenging conditions to bring the fire under control."
