Four charged over collision death

John Lee Wells, from Rassau in Ebbw Vale, died following the collision on the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road. A 24-year-old man from the Tredegar area has been charged with driving without due care and attention and will appear before magistrates on 8 January. Two boys and one girl under the age of 18 have also been charged with a number of offences in relation to the crash. A summary of these charges are - causing criminal damage with intent to destroy property and acting recklessly in regard to whether life would be endangered. They will appear before Merthyr youth court on 2 January for a preliminary hearing. Mr Wells had been travelling from work in Swansea when his silver Seat Ibiza was in collision with another car near the Goytre Lane underpass near Merthyr on 18 July. Witnesses reported seeing stones being thrown before the incident. |
