Emergency services rescued a woman from the sea off Hampshire and are searching for a second person believed to be in difficulty in the water. Four lifeboat crews and a coastguard helicopter are searching for a person missing in the sea off Hampshire.
The coastguard was called to Langstone Harbour, near Hayling Island, at 13:25 GMT. Emergency services rescued a woman from the water at Langstone Harbour, near Hayling Island, at about 13:25 GMT.
A woman was pulled from the water by a boat crew and taken to hospital. She was taken to hospital and the search continued for a second person said to be in difficulty.
The RNLI and a coastguard helicopter are searching for the second person. The Hayling Ferry is also assisting. Alan Barnett, from Hayling Island Lifeboat Station, described it as "quite a big search operation."
Alan Barnett, from Hayling Island Lifeboat Station, said: "There are four lifeboats out searching, the coastguards are searching the shoreline and its helicopter is still looking over the harbour. The Hayling Ferry is assisting and the shoreline is being searched.
"It is quite a big search operation."
