Three men are due to appear in court charged with murdering a father-of-two in Stoke-on-Trent. Three people have appeared in court charged with murdering a father-of-two found lying in a city street.
Daron Hargreaves, 32, of Colley Road, Pitshill, was found with severe head injuries on Chell Green Avenue early on Friday morning. Daron Hargreaves, 32, was found with serious head injuries in Chell Green Avenue, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire during the early hours of Friday.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire where he died later from his injuries. Daniel Tunstall, 20, Jamie Bennett, 19 and 18-year-old Gary Rodgers, all from Stoke, appeared at the city's magistrates court on Tuesday.
The accused men - aged 18, 19 and 20 - are due to appear before magistrates on Boxing Day. They were remanded in custody and will appear in court again on Thursday.
Seven other men, aged between 16 and 22, and a 20-year-old woman were initially questioned about the murder but had been released on bail, a police spokesman said. Mr Hargreaves, of Colley Road, Pitshill, was taken to hospital but later died.
Mr Hargreaves had a fiancée and two sons, aged three and five, and the family lived in the Pitshill area of the city. A post-mortem examination confirmed he died of head injuries.
