A pilot has died after a light aircraft crashed in Lincolnshire. A pilot has died after a light aircraft crashed on farmland in Lincolnshire.
The plane crashed near Spilsby on Sunday afternoon and the pilot was pronounced dead at the scene, said Lincolnshire Police. The single-seater plane crashed at Mavis Enderby, near Spilsby just after 13:00 GMT on Sunday afternoon and a man was pronounced dead at the scene, Lincolnshire Police said.
Investigations by the police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch are to continue to determine the cause of the accident. Three Air Accidents Investigation Branch inspectors are leading the investigation supported by the force.
No further details have been released and the force has asked anyone with information to contact it. Anyone who saw a small aircraft between 10:30 and 13:00 GMT on Sunday has been asked to contact police.
