Laser shone at helicopter pilot

The police have issued a warning about the use of laser pens after one was shone into the eyes of a police helicopter pilot.

The helicopter was on a training exercise on Wednesday morning when the laser was shone into the cockpit.

In a follow-up search of a property in the Lagmore area of Dunmurry, police recovered a laser pen.

A police spokesperson said a 17-year-old male was helping police with their inquiries.
