'Nightmare'
Speaking after the sentencing Mr Lloyd-Evans's father George said his family has suffered a "tremendous" loss.
He described how he had talked with his son, known as Bala, about celebrating the Liverpool win and said he was having "a fantastic day" until he got a call at 03:30 with the news that he had been stabbed.
"From that moment our lives have been completely abandoned," he said. "Everyday is a nightmare."
Merseyside Police Det Ch Insp Mark Baker said knife crime "will not be tolerated on Merseyside".
He said: "What we've seen is the devastation Bala's death has caused not just his family, but also the community. Two young children are going to grow up without their father.
"If you take a knife into the city centre you will be pursued. You will be arrested and be convicted."
