Version 0 of 1.

Stroke charities and speech therapists have called on the Scottish Government to provide more speech and language therapy for stroke survivors.

A new NHS strategy for stroke treatment is due out in January.

But therapists have said thousands of people are still being silenced by strokes every year in Scotland.

They have conducted a survey which suggests three quarters of survivors had difficulties communicating - and many do not receive help.

The call is backed by the Stroke Association, Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
