A puppy named Lobo was stolen at gunpoint Monday while being walked in Prince George’s County, police said.

The owner told police he was walking Lobo at Kent Village Drive and East Ridge Drive in the Landover area when a woman got out of a car and demanded the dog at gunpoint.

A struggle ensued, police said, and the victim grabbed the gun. But a man approached and the victim let go of the gun, he told police. Police said they were told the woman pulled the trigger but the gun did not fire. The woman grabbed the dog and she and the man drove away, police said.

Police said the car was described as a gray Ford Crown Victoria with Virginia tags. They said a hubcap was missing from the rear wheel on the passenger side. The front fender and hood were black, police said. They said the woman was thought to have face tattoos.
