A man was charged with murder Monday in a shooting in Northeast Washington that occurred about two weeks ago, police said Tuesday. Police announced arrests Tuesday in four homicides in the District.
On Dec. 19, officers responded to the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue NE after a shooting was reported, police said in a statement. They found 28-year-old Richard Washington, of Northeast, with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at a hospital, the statement said. Four men were charged with murder in four separate D.C. shootings.

Police also said 43-year-old Diantre Smith of Northeast Washington a man who allegedly shot an officer wearing a protective vest during a confrontation at a Northeast Washington home Sunday was arrested Monday in the shooting of 28-year-old Nyesha Lenea Galloway of Hyattsville.
