Ballymena SDLP councillor Declan O'Loan condemned the attack.
"To have a gun fired through the downstairs windows in the early hours of the morning was obviously a terrifying experience for a mother and her eight-year-old daughter," he said.
"Indeed it will have been very alarming for all the neighbours in this quiet residential street. Fortunately, no-one was physically injured."
