Boxing promoter Barry Hughes will appear in court later charged with attempted murder. Boxing promoter Barry Hughes has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
Hughes, 30, of Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, was arrested on Thursday over the stabbing of a 22-year-old man in a Glasgow nightclub. Mr Hughes, 30, of Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, is alleged to have stabbed 22-year-old Christopher Boyle at Glasgow nightlcub Byblos last month.
Two other men, aged 30 and 27, have also been charged in connection with the incident at the city's Byblos club in Albion Street on 6 December. Paul Fitzpatrick, 30, and Jamie Bryce, 26, also appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court in connection with the incident.
The men are expected to appear in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court. The three men made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.
