A prisoner has escaped after an armed man held up a security firm's van carrying suspects to court. A suspected burglar escaped when an armed man held up a prison van carrying him to court.
The driver was assaulted after the van was stopped at 0745 GMT in Feltham, west London. He is now in a stable condition in hospital. Wayne Connor, 20, was driven away after the security van driver was assaulted a short distance from Feltham Young Offenders' Institution in west London.
A 20-year-old burglary suspect made off in a car with the armed man. No shots were fired in the attack. An unknown number of other offenders were also being transported, but were secured at the scene, police said.

Police cordoned off several roads as they investigated the escape in Bedfont Road on Monday morning.
