BERLIN — Germany's federal prosector said Thursday that a "xenophobic" motive was suspected in overnight shootings that left 11 people dead, including the suspected perpetrator, and targeted patrons gathered in hookah bars. | |
A spokesman for the Public Prosecutor General said that the office had taken over the investigation. Nine people were killed in shootings at the two hookah bars in Hanau, which is about 15 miles east of Frankfurt, on Wednesday night. | |
