An army of sewers across the country has banded together to make desperately needed masks for hospital workers. In rural Oregon, bus drivers are delivering lunches in brown paper bags to children in need. Landlords are reducing rent. College students are fetching groceries for older neighbors or those with compromised immune systems — and wiping them down with bleach before depositing them on a doorstep.
