Indian police discover 15 skulls Indian police discover 15 skulls
(40 minutes later)
Indian police say two suspected serial killers near New Delhi may have killed at least 15 children and women after discovering a number of skulls. Indian police say two men from the outskirts of New Delhi may have killed as many as 15 children and women.
A man and his domestic servant are reported to have confessed to a series of sexual assaults and murders. On Saturday, police found 15 skulls near a house in the town of Noida after digging up the back garden and drains.
The skulls were discovered in Noida's Nithari district days after child skeletons and clothes were also found. These discoveries followed earlier finds of large plastic bags filled with clothes, bangles and human remains.
The two men have appeared before a local court, charged with rape, murder and kidnapping. The discovery has provoked the fury of many residents of a nearby slum, who said complaints about their missing children had been ignored by police.
Police said they began digging around the house on Friday after a domestic servant who worked there admitted that he had raped and killed several children.
The businessman who employed him has also been arrested, police say.
Both men appeared before a local court on Saturday, charged with rape, kidnapping and murder.
The children were reported to have been lured to the house with promises of sweets while the women were offered jobs.

Noida's police chief, RKS Rathore, said they would continue to look for more remains, as local people said many children had gone missing in recent months. Noida's police chief, RKS Rathore, said that so far 10 of the 15 victims had been identified by relatives.
"Fifteen skulls have been discovered," Mr Rathore said, "But the search is still going on." The remains of the children were found hidden in bags
Mr Rathore said six children below the age of 12 had gone missing from the Nithari area in the last year. "The bodies recovered are those who are in our list," Mr Rathore said.
The search for bodies goes on "They have been identified by their parents. They have identified the clothes."
Police said they initially arrested a man in connection with the murder of a young girl. Angered relatives, many of whom live in shanty housing bordering Noida, gathered at the house and some, anxious to find out if their child was among the dead, struggled with police officers.
They say further questioning of the man led to the discovery of the skeletons. "We told police that we suspected this man, but they repeatedly ignored out complaints," Kuldeep Kumar, whose four-year-old nephew has been missing since February, told the Associated Press news agency.
The skeletons were found in a businessman's house where the initial suspect worked as a servant. "We are poor people. We can't go to the police station every day."
A bulldozer was deployed to dig up earth around the property. Neighbours are reported to have contacted the police after smelling a foul stench coming from the drain outside the house.
Police were sent to control crowds who tried to storm the house. The search for more remains continues. Local people say that almost 40 children have disappeared during recent months.
"My son went missing eight months ago. Police have not told me anything," one parent told the BBC. "But I am fearing the worst."
Many others told the BBC that they had reported missing children in recent months but that the police had done nothing about it.
