Electronic goods costs 'may rise'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/business/7848591.stm Version 0 of 1. Consumers are being warned that the prices of electronics goods made in Japan are likely to rise, because of the strength of the yen. And camera and printer maker Canon has already acted by increasing its prices across Europe by about 5%, and as much as 10% in the UK. The BBC's technology correspondent, Rory Cellan-Jones, said shoppers have previously known a simple rule about electronics goods, which is to wait a while and they will get cheaper. But now high street retailers, which are struggling for business, have to decide whether to pass on the price rises, our correspondent added. |
