Conservative assembly member Darren Millar accused the Welsh Government of "politicising its Covid-19 recovery group".
"The last thing that people in Wales need during this time of unprecedented crisis is another dose of Gordon Brown," Mr Millar said.
"Few in Wales have fond memories of his thankfully short premiership and harking back to the past is not going to solve the challenges of the present and propel Wales into the future."
Ministers "would do better to prioritise representatives from the business and transport sectors to help advise on how we can get our economy moving again once it is safe to do so", the Clwyd West AM added.
