Detectives investigating the drive-by shooting of a student have been given more time to question three suspects. Two more suspects have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a woman who was shot dead in Blackburn.

On Tuesday two men aged 31 and 35 were arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 29-year-old man was held on suspicion of assisting an offender. Police have now made 13 arrests in connection with the investigation with eight detained on suspicion of murder.
Magistrates granted officers a further 36 hours to speak to the men. The latest arrests include two men, aged 24 and 34, who remain in police custody for questioning.
Eleven people have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Detectives have been given more time to question the suspects who were detained earlier this week including the three people who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
