The attackers escaped and no-one has claimed responsibility. An eyewitness told the BBC a group of journalists were attacked on their way to a press conference called by the hardline Islamist militia al-Shabab.
Earlier, a spokesman for the hardline Islamist militia al-Shabab warned that anyone supporting the newly elected president would face the consequences. Gunmen escaped from the scene and no-one has claimed responsibility.
