Road care is urged after snowfall Snowfall hits flights and roads

Motorists have been urged to drive with extra care following overnight snowfall in Northern Ireland. Up to 10 centimetres of snow has fallen in some parts of Northern Ireland causing disruption to flights and forcing the closure of some schools.
Areas of high ground, especially in the north, are the worst affected and snow ploughs are being used in these areas. Flights in and out of Belfast City Airport have been stopped as efforts continue to clear the runway and there are delays at Belfast International.
The snow has been causing delays at Belfast City Airport with diversions to Belfast International Airport while the runway is cleared. Motorists should use extra care. The Shane's Hill Road between Ballymena and Larne is described as impassable.
A number of schools have been closed due to the snow and public transport company Translink has warned of delays. Public transport company Translink has also warned of delays to services.
