The family is being re-housed while an engineer surveys the damage. His sister, Rebecca, described what she heard at about 0600 GMT on Sunday morning.
A car has smashed through the wall of a house in Newry, County Down, ending up in the bedroom of a teenage boy. "There was a massive bang. I thought it was Jonathan having a seizure. But it was too loud to be that. I jumped out of the bed. Everyone was in the hall. I just saw a car in my brother's room and a hole," she said.
It happened at about 0600 GMT on Sunday in the Damolly Meadows area. One man, aged 32, has been arrested.

His mother, Elaine, was watching her son on a monitor when the car came through the wall.
"There's a massive big hole in the child's room, his room was all adapted for him with padding on the walls and on the floor," she said.
"If the car had come in another six inches, 12 inches to the left it would have come under the window hit the bed and then trapped him because he was at the door at the time."
