A committee of MPs has said a lack of border measures earlier in the pandemic was a "serious mistake", and that ministers underestimated the risk of the virus could be imported from Europe rather than Asia. The MPs on the Home Affairs Select Committee said it was wrong not to tell people returning to the UK from Spain during February and March that they should quarantine for 14 days. The Home Office said "appropriate measures were introduced at the right time". According to the report, British adults spent six hours and 25 minutes each day during lockdown looking at screens.
