http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/northern_ireland/7889614.stm Version 0 of 1. The trial of a man accused of money-laundering cash from the Northern Bank raid has heard him admitting he knew the money was from the robbery. Ted Cunningham, 60, made the admission in a recorded interview played to the jury during the trial in Cork. He was recorded saying he knew that almost £5m he had handled was part of the £26.5m stolen from the bank in December 2004. Mr Cunningham, of Farran, Co Cork, pleads not guilty to the charges. Garda Det Chief Supt Tony Quilter gave evidence that he had met Mr Cunningham up to 15 times in car parks after his initial arrest and that the accused was in fear after naming former Sinn Fein Vice President, Phil Flynn, as the "boss behind everything". Lawyers for Mr Cunningham said he was not afraid of Mr Flynn. The trial continues. |
