Four men have been charged with offences including affray, having an offensive weapon and criminal damage following weekend trouble in Ballymena.

The men are aged 22, 23, 27, and 35. The charges follow trouble in the County Antrim town's Doury Road estate.

A man aged in his 40s is still being questioned.

A crowd, including men armed with sticks and other weapons, gathered in Sandown Park. One man who was assaulted suffered a suspected broken arm.

A flat was also damaged in a fire and a car attacked. A second flat was damaged on Sunday.

Both homes sustained smoke damage and although they were occupied, the residents were not inside.

Items, including a crossbow bolt, were recovered by police after Saturday afternoon's trouble.
