A police spokeswoman said that the deaths were being treated by officers as "unexplained". An Essex Police spokesman said that following a post-mortem examination on the bodies the deaths were not being treated as suspicious.
Post-mortem examinations on the man and the woman are due to be carried out later. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. The spokesman said the coroner's office had been informed and there would be an inquest at a later date.
