Man held over ex-girlfriend death

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his 18-year-old former girlfriend in Bedfordshire.

Police said he argued with the teenager before she was stabbed in Enderby Road, Luton, at about 2000 GMT on Saturday.

The arrested man is in police custody at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage, where he is being treated for an injury, which is not life threatening.

The woman's identity and the results of a post-mortem examination are expected to be released on Monday.
