Ground examined beside cemetery
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/northern_ireland/7907692.stm Version 0 of 1. Police forensic teams have begun examining ground close to Bog Meadows wildlife sanctuary in west Belfast. It follows a search several weeks ago of land once owned by Milltown Cemetery by dogs trained to indicate where human remains may be buried. Families believe hundreds of dead babies may have been inadvertently transferred out of the cemetery when that land was sold some years ago. The search is focused on a small area of a field adjoining the cemetery. It is not yet clear whether the area at the base of an oak tree contains human remains, and it is thought excavation of the ground is unlikely to happen before Wednesday. The land was bought by the Ulster Wildlife Trust some years ago. |
