Version 0 of 1.

An 18-year-old man who sexually assaulted a child after he carried her home while she was drunk has been jailed for four months.

Jamie Duddy, who had to move from the Waterside in Londonderry for his own safety, was sentenced at the city's courthouse on Monday.

The judge told Duddy his actions were calculated, shocking and opportunistic.

Duddy was also placed on the sex offenders' register for seven years and put on probation for three years.

The court heard that the 12-year-old victim had been found wandering in the street outside her family home after the attack.

She was drunk and wearing only socks and trainers.

Duddy pleaded guilty to unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl in March 2008.
