Inquiry into police station death

An investigation has begun into the death of a 42-year-old man at Newtownards Police Station.

The man had been arrested earlier on Friday afternoon in Bangor. It is believed he died in the grounds of the police station.

Police have not yet released the name of the man, who was from Holywood.

The death is being investigated by the Police Ombudsman's Office.
