Detectives are urging rail passengers captured on CCTV using a Hampshire station near where a woman was found stabbed to death to contact them. Paula Poolton was found in her Peugeot parked in Duncan Road near Swanwick railway station, on 28 October. The 40-year-old, of Titchfield, Fareham, had been missing for 11 days. The plea for people at the station on 17 October, covers Southern England and Wales. Two men, aged 56 and 53, held on suspicion of murder, remain on bail. We do not believe any of the people in these images were involved in Paula's death Det Chf Insp Darren O'Callaghan Det Chf Insp Darren O'Callaghan, from Hampshire police, said: "It is possible that the people in these images live outside Hampshire and were just commuting through Swanwick station on October 17, 2008. "They may have seen Paula or her car at the station on that day and could be vital witnesses in our inquiry. Police think rail passengers captured on CCTV may hold vital clues "I would stress that we do not believe any of the people in these images were involved in Paula's death. "Any one of them could have seen Paula or her car and could help us piece together what happened. "I would ask anyone who used Swanwick Station in October to have a good look at these images and contact us if they recognise themselves." Ms Poolton was last seen on CCTV shopping at Tesco in Bursledon, at about 2130 BST on 17 October. Police believe her black Peugeot 206 - registration number HK54 KHH - may have been left in Duncan Road with her body inside, later that night. |
