http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/7951007.stm Version 0 of 1. A 37-year-old man from Glasgow has admitted possessing more than 69,000 indecent photographs of children. Andrew West, from Royston, was caught with the images after he was identified by the FBI's cyber crime squad. At the High Court in Glasgow, West also pleaded guilty to using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices against a girl when she was aged 12 to 16. Judge Lord Turnbull placed West on the sex offenders register and deferred sentence for background reports. The court heard how West was caught during the FBI's "Operation Algebra" which targeted paedophiles exchanging indecent photographs of young children on the internet. The bureau's cyber crime squad passed information to police in Scotland. When officers interviewed West he admitted downloading images and films of children being abused. West will appear for sentencing next month. |
