Det Supt Burke, of the Major Crime team, who is leading the investigation, said: "Although we very much hope that Kirsty is still alive, due to the circumstances of her going missing, we are now treating her disappearance as a murder." Following a previous appeal police have traced the taxi driver who took her home and are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard from Kirsty since she was last seen to come forward with information.
Officers are keen to trace the taxi driver who is believed to have taken Mrs Grabham home. Det Supt Paul Burke, of the Major Crime team, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are eager to speak to anyone that might have seen her on Friday night or Saturday morning and anyone that has information which they think could help us in our investigation.
They also want to speak to anyone who may have seen, or heard her, near her home that night, or saw anything suspicious, after the taxi dropped her off. "The smallest piece of information may be crucial to this investigation."
Det Supt Burke said that although officers hoped Mrs Grabham was still alive, the circumstances of her going missing meant they were treating her disappearance as a murder.
